Firstly, I would
like to thank to the MC for giving me this opportunity.
Well, standing in front of you all, I would like to deliver my
speech by the title
“The role of English in globalization era”
Ladies and gentlemen
As we know that English has become the global lingua franca. It
means that all people use English as media to communicate with others for
various business; for economic, educational, political and social affairs. As a
result, many people are trying hard to master English as to go with the global
demand.
Ladies and gentlemen
As students, we are obliged to master English because English has
been stated as a compulsory subject in the national examination. It is as one
of our government’s effort to prepare us to face the challenge of globalization
era. It is believed that if we master English, we can be easy to get
scholarship, to continue our study, to access the information and opportunities
on internet and to seek for jobs.
Ladies and gentlemen
English is not the only one thing we need in our future life. It is
only as one of media on how to make our future life brighter. Our faith in God,
our life skill, spirit and motivation to always work hard and focus on what we
want to be; those are also very important in facing the demand of globalization
era.
